A surprising misstep by the Eggers brothers and A24. They made an annoying and unlikeable film (I really don't know why horror is included?) with a pretty nerve-wracking grandmother – at the end when she blows the whistle I thought I was going to throw my laptop out the window. Weird, annoying, boring. 3/10. ()
I really wasn't expecting such a shitfest, although I know that even A24 sometimes shoots off target when it comes to horror. The Eggers missed their first feature chance, but hopefully Robert will save the family reputation this year. There's no point in paying attention to The Front Room unless you want to see one of the most annoying characters to ever appear on screen. If that cow had remained this annoying only within the confines of the fictional world, it could have been comedy gold, but it unfortunately carries over to the viewer. ()
