Biography

Kalin Nikolov was born in 1982 in Sofia. He is a graduate of the National School of Arts in Varna. He studied Music at New Bulgarian University. Kalin Nikolov has made several plays as a composer. The more popular ones are Peter Weiss's Marat/Sade, Martin McDonagh's The Pillowman, Edward Albee's The Play about the Baby, William Shakespear's The Tempest and King Lear, Hanoch Levin's Krum and The Old Woman from Calcutta and Ivan Vyrypaev's Valentine's Day. He is in the possession of national awards for his theatrical work. In addition to his theatrical plays, radio plays and visual performances Kalin Nikolov has also worked on short films: Bedspotting, Oh Sweet Home of Mine / Discovery Channel Redone, Clay People, I Like Your Smile, March, 34, SoulMate. Kalin Nikolov's début in full-length feature filmmaking is the film Zift.
