Biography

The Mozambican filmmaker and writer Licínio Azevedo starts his career as a journalist before working closely together with Ruy Guerra, Jean-Luc Godard and Jean Rouch at the Instituto Nacional de Cinema de Moçambique in the years following the country's independence. He signs several films including Desobediência (2003), Night Lodgers (2007) and Virgin Margarida (2012), which wins the Prix du public in Amiens. Licínio Azevedo is also the co-founder of the production company, Ébano Multimédia.
