Biography

Rolf Losansky (1931) is a screenwriter and director, a classic of German films intended for children and young people. He graduated from the Potsdam-Babelsberg film academy. He made his debut with the feature-length film The Mystery of 17 (Geheimnis der 17, 1963), then directed films at the state-owned DEFA studios. Of his rich award-winning works we'll mention the films Flowers for the Man in the Moon (Blumen für den Mann im Mond, 1975), A Long Way to School (Der Lange Ritt zurSchule, 1982) and Hans in Luck (Hans im Glück, 1999).
