Biography
Mercedes Moncada directed and produced the documentary La Pasión de María Elena in 2003, winning several awards at the Guadalajara, Sao Paulo and Jerusalem festivals, among others. In 2005 she completed El inmortal, screened at the Berlinale, San Sebastián and Sundance, among other festivals, and at the MoMA in New York. La sirena y el buzo (2009) was released at the Berlinale Forum of New Cinema. With Palabras mágicas (para romper un encantamiento) (2012) she participated in the San Sebastian Festival's Zabaltegi section and won different awards at international festivals.
