Sam Fell

Biography

Sam Fell wrote the original story for, and directed, the award-winning Flushed Away (2006), an Aardman Animations/DreamWorks feature for which he received a BAFTA Award nomination and an Annie Award nomination for Best Directing. He then made The Tale of Despereaux (2008), a Universal Pictures feature, for which he was again an Annie Award nominee for Best Directing.
A U.K. native, Mr. Fell graduated university with a degree in Fine Art in 1989. He then embarked on a career as director and animator at various production companies including Aardman Animations; at the latter, he was key animator on Wat's Pig, Peter Lord's 1996 Academy Award-nominated short film.
An award-winning commercials director, Mr. Fell has also developed and directed several shorts and television series.
