Biography

During the past three decades, he has made ten feature films, shorts and documentaries. He has earned Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations, and received awards such as the Ariel, the Crystal Bear at the Berlin Film Festival and the Stanley Kramer Award given by the Producers Guild of America. After his acclaimed Voces inocentes, he made La vida precoz y breve de Sabina Rivas, an adaptation of the novel La Mara by Rafael Ramírez Heredia.
