Biography
Kuba Mikurda is a film lecturer and filmmaker based in Warsaw, Poland. He started as a film critic, journalist and publisher, then worked as a TV director and film news presenter for Canal+ Poland. He also co-edited books on Terry Gilliam, Brothers Quay, Guy Maddin, Tsai Ming-liang and, last but not least, Walerian Borowczyk. Mikurda has studied Psychology and Philosophy under philosopher and psychoanalyst Slavoj Žižek.
Mikurda is fascinated by the idea of mixing film practice and research – he has explored various forms of visual film analysis, including a graphic novel, found footage film, installation and performance (creative duo with visual artist Jakub Woynarowski).
