Biography
Born in Bogotá, filmmaker Sergio Guataquira Sarmiento left his homeland for Europe at the age of 19 and enrolled at the Poitiers School of Fine Arts on a student visa. As his studies progressed, he became more and more interested in cinema and eventually successfully passed the entrance exam to the IAD Film School in Belgium. In 2018, his graduation film Simon Cries was shown at numerous festivals.
