Biography

She was born in Latvia in 1971, and moved to Norway in 1991. She studied TV directing at the University of Lillehammer. Since 1995 she has worked as a television and documentary director. In 2000 she founded her production company Bivrost Film alongside Trond Jacobsen, specializing in creative and intimate documentaries as well as pieces for young audiences. Her works include My Mother's Farm (2008), selected at the IDFA, winner of the Best Latvian Documentary Award and Best TV Documentary in Norway, the animated series My Body Belongs To Me, winner of an International Emmy in 2018 and the NRK Super Award in 2019. My Favourite War, has been awarded the Contrechamp Award in Annecy 2020.
