Biography

Javier Van de Couter is a theater, film and television writer and director. His debut film, Mía (2011), received several international accolades, including the Premio Maguey for best film at the 27th Guadalajara International Film Festival. He wrote –with director Anahi Bernero- the film Aire Libre (2014), in competition at the 62nd Donostia Zinemaldia San Sebastian Film Festival, and collaborated with her on the script for Alanis. He directed the TV miniseries La celebración (2014), which was nominated as best fiction at the International Emmy Awards. He is also author of the miniseries Historia de un clan (2015). His second film project, 7:35AM, was chosen as best project in the V Europe-Latin American Co-Production Forum at the San Sebastian Film Festival.
