Biography

Andrew Rossi is an Emmynominated documentary filmmaker. His film, Ivory Tower, about the value of higher education, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and was distributed in the summer of 2014 by Samuel Goldwyn Films, Paramount Pictures and Participant Media. It was produced by CNN Films. His another movie, Page One: Inside the New York Times, about the crisis in the newspaper industry, was one of the highest grossing documentaries of 2011. Distributed by Magnolia Pictures and History Films, Page One was nominated for two News and Documentary Emmy Awards and received various critics' groups awards, including the Critics Choice Award for Best documentary, 2011. Rossi is also the director of Le Cirque: A Table in Heaven (HBO Films) about the Italian family behind the restaurant Le Cirque, The Sky Did Not Fall about same sex marriage in Massachusetts and Eat This New York (Sundance Channel) about the development of the Brooklyn dining scene. He also served as associate producer on Jehane Noujaim's Control Room, about the Arab News Network Al Jazeera. His films have screened at SXSW, IDFA, True/False, Sheffield, Deauville and several other films festivals.
