Biography

He studied Communication Sciences at the Universidad de la República, and Screenwriting at Cuba’s International School of Film and Television. In 2004 he wrote and directed Conexiones, his first fiction short film, and in 2007 he co-directed with Javier Palleiro the short film Buen viaje, which was the first Uruguayan short film to compete for the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival. In 2013, he directed the feature film Solo, Best First Film at the Miami International Film Festival, and the documentary The essence of Carolina Herrera de Báez for Discovery Channel. In 2014, he directed a documentary series on the Colombian drug lord, Pablo Escobar for Fusion TV.
