English "Gamera vs. Gaos" is a very average kaiju film, and I'm sure many viewers will think it's even worse than average. And it might have been, if it weren't for the truly great special effects sequences that highlight what I love most about kaiju films. The beautiful effort to achieve excellent effects using classic practical methods, without digital technology, which wasn't even possible at that time, but still effectively and simply wonderfully.
