English This is a very average kaiju film and I'm sure a lot of viewers will think it's even worse than average. And it might have been if there weren't some really great special effects sequences at times that highlight what I love most about kaiju films. It's a beautiful effort to achieve excellent effects using classic, practical methods, without digital technology, which wasn't even possible at the time, yet it's done effectively and simply wonderfully.
