In National Lampoon's European Vacation, the family win a holiday to Europe. Contrary to their expectations, however, it is not a luxurious, all-expenses-paid kind of trip, but rather a cut-price, economy deal which takes them to some of the Old World's seedier locations. I can't help but think this family is so moronic and dysfunctional that I don't understand how they can even function. I know it's mostly fun, or should be mostly fun, but I find them so annoying that I can't even watch them anymore. Every now and then, a good joke really saves it, but the characters kill it for me too much.
