Seventh Heaven

In this musical road movie, we encounter several of the movie stars of the period crammed on the same charter bus, through a beautifully colored European landscape. Beside the pleasure of seeing Ekman make fun of life as a famous superstar, and Sickan in the role of a pragmatic doctor (who doesn´t believe in romantic love), this movie is also a document of the then just beginning charter trend, which contributed to a new tourism in Europe after the war. Sickan Carlsson was active around 60 years both on stage and on screen, and she was rated one of our most beloved actresses. Seventh Heaven is one of many "Sickan-comedies", that Hasse Ekman directed during the 1950s. (Umeå European Film Festival)
