The farces about the seductive charmer, Thomas Graal, with Victor Sjöström and Karin Molander as the principal players, were of great importance in Stiller's development as a comedy director. This is one of the first productions about a film within a film. A fashionable young scriptwriter is supposed to provide a script, but he has no idea of what to write until the delightful Karin Molander is hired as his secretary. He thereupon concocts a story involving her imagined love life. (official distributor synopsis)
