The Boy in the Tree

Bored by his indifferent parents Göte, rebellious as one is at the age of 16, joins a gang of young poachers. But he soon also revolts against his buddies and their reckless slaughtering of animals for blood money. He steals the gangleader's gun and disappears into the deep forests, away from society, into his own freedom in a big tree... and death. This was Arne Sucksdorff's first move from praised master of wild-life documentaries into fictional drama.
