In a slightly philosophical manner, this adaptation of Stanislaw Lem's short story The Hearing looks for the superiority of a common man over a perfect machine, which is supposed to replace him. Thanks to the peculiar tension between profound thoughts and the unconfessed "B-movie feeling" the film has reached an almost cult status. (Summer Film School)
