Paul Hogan and Michael Caton star in this warm small-town comedy of manners. Cinema owner Vince (Hogan) has a huge tax demand following his divorce, but plans to take advantage of recent changes to the tax system that favour same-sex couples. He persuades his best mate, mechanic Ralph (Caton), to pretend that they are an item. Schooled in ‘gay-ness’ by Eric the local hairdresser (Glynn Nicholas), the ‘strange bedfellows’ undertake an enlightening research trip to Sydney, taking in the Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.
