Clint Eastwood plays a New Orleans cop who is on the trail of a sex murderer. However, it seems that they both share the same tastes when it comes to massage parlours and S and M games, and the lines between the pursuer and pursued become ever more blurred - with the finger of suspicion turning towards the cop himself. English Lately, I've been having trouble staying awake during movies, and Tightrope felt like it was daring me to doze off from the very start. It was as if the film was telling me, "The main plot is sleep, the key theme is sleep, starring sleep, with a soundtrack by sleep, and the pacing of sleep." Honestly, it wasn’t terrible, but the year it was made, the era it reflected, and the fact that I was bombarded by commercials every few minutes didn’t help. In the end, "average" is probably the most accurate way to sum up this film. ()
