No End

Nader Saeivar contributed to the screenplay of 3 Faces by Jafar Panahi, and the celebrated filmmaker returned the favour not only by assuming the same role of co-scriptwriter on Saeivar’s directorial effort, but also by collaborating as film editor. Central to this Kafkaesque nightmare is Ayaz, an honest, hardworking man, whose only dream is to have a home of his own. In order to achieve this goal he engages in a little act of deceit which, however, attracts the attention of the secret police. Using their relentless bullying techniques, the police force him into a state of psychotic constriction from which there is no escape. No End is a film which, through blunt realism, points a finger at the control and humiliation of chosen individuals on the part of any authoritarian regime.
