English To the Devil a Daughter was practically the swan song of Hammer Films. It is a solid genre flick with a very impressive cast (Richard Widmark and Christopher Lee are great), although I was more entertained by its first two-thirds of the movie when they built up the dark atmosphere very well rather than the conclusion. The end of the movie feels terribly rushed and concludes quite anticlimactically. Putting some kind of memorable twist at the end would have been nice. ()

English I don't think the British-German film To the Devil a Daughter deserves that much criticism, because there's definitely a lot of good to be found in it. Yes, the story isn't original and can seem a bit long-winded at times, but the final unravelling is brilliantly shot, including the excellent visuals. The performances of the two male leads only underscore the fact that this film is watchable. ()
