The main character in the story, which takes place in 1905, is Flóra, a teacher, who is determined to do her job in the village in accordance with her professional awareness and oath. She is soon to face a conflict as a result of her beauty and naiveté, getting into trouble thanks to the village strongmen and a landowner's family living in the neighbourhood. Although she is determined to brace herself for the struggle, knowing that truth is on her side, but all she can rely on is a benevolent old priest. Nagy István Jr., the landowner's son, a debauchee, falls in love with Flóra and, thanks to his love of the young woman, he undergoes an important change: he stands by her, revealing the hypocrisy of some lewd individuals. Eventually, Nagy István Sr. proposes to Flóra on behalf of his son. (official distributor synopsis)
