Private inspector Hável happens to travel on the train which is attacked at Biatorbágy. His attention is drawn to a suspicious man, and in the next few days he confirms that it was indeed him who committed the crime. Yet the police accuses not the lunatic Marschalkó but the communists. Summary justice is declared. Hável needs to find evidence, and lays a trap. His old acquaintance, the head inspector, refuses to help him, even though Marschalkó is already preparing for a new attack. Hável manages to stop the tragedy. It is revealed that all through the police knew about the real man, but wanted to have a new case to turn against the communists. In the meantime, two more death sentences have been issued.
