During the Crimean War, the British have developed a new super-cannon. Naturally, the Russians want to get their hands on it. When one of the British guards is captured, his mate, played with debonair charm by Jean Pierre Aumont, is sent to rescue him, aided by a lovely gypsy (Paulette Goddard) and her band.
