1948. Angi Vera is an assistant nurse in a hospital in the country. She openly criticizes the unbearable conditions in the medical institution. The outspoken orphan is appreciated and sent to a boarding school of the communist party where she is helped and promoted by an old activist, Tarján Anna. The hardships and afflictions she suffered during her work in the movement have made her lose all the natural human benevolence. Anna condemns the liveliness and innocence of the sincere Muskát Mária and her friends. The inexperienced and easily impressionable Angi Vera takes a stand for Anna. During a seminar on politics she even talks about her budding love in public. Vera is consistently marching on the road leading towards a minister's armchair. (official distributor synopsis)
