Heavier Trip: Road to Wacken

After causing anger, chaos, and destruction across Northern Europe, the members of the most brutal metal band in the world, Impaled Rektum, find themselves in Norwegian prison. With a respectable PrisonAdvisor rating of 6.8 and boasting the best seafood buffet in all of Scandinavia, things haven't been all that bad inside, with the exception of Dokken, a female prison guard with an ax to grind. Their reputation as the most dangerous band in the world captures the attention of conniving promoter Maxwell Efraim Fisto, who makes them a once-in-a-lifetime proposition—a slot at Wacken, the biggest, loudest, and hardest metal festival in the world, along with a windfall of 50,000 euros. Lead singer Turo is eager to sign on but stops short when gatekeeping bassist Xytrax rejects the offer on the grounds that the festival’s a showcase for wannabes and posers. When the bank repossesses the reindeer slaughterhouse that has been in guitarist Pekka’s family for generations, the boys spring into action. After the easiest jailbreak in movie history, Impaled Rektum hits the road with Dokken hot on their heels. Finding their slot already filled, Fisto makes another offer. All they need to do is take his direction. Seduced by Fisto’s promises of superstardom, the boys are faced with their biggest challenge to date: keeping true to their friendship, their music, and not selling out. (Fantastic Fest)
