The Russian Revolution and Inspector Hopkins asks Holmes to investigate when Willoughby Smith, secretary to Professor Coram is found dead clutching a pince-nez. Coram's wife Anna is the main suspect - it transpires that she was trying to save her brother held in a Siberian prison and that the death was an accident.
