Plots(1)
Rene Clair (1898-1981) was hired to create an intermission show for Swedish Rolf de Marén's Les Ballets Suedois. The result was a classic of 1920s avant-garde and a brilliant Dadaist fantasy that became instantly famous. Absurdity and unexpectedness were cornerstones of the Dadaist movement, and in this early masterpiece, Clair realised them with dedication and insight. (Tampere Film Festival)
