The hero Carl Hamilton is an elegant baron with roots in the Swedish leftist movement of the 1970s. Trained by the CIA, Hamilton belongs to the military division of the Swedish Security Force. There are rumors in Stockholm of an imminent act of terrorism originating most probably in the Middle East. Hamilton is transferred to the civilian section of the Security Police, against their will, to help clear up the case. When one of the men working on it is murdered, Hamilton is able to show his superiority and ability to go his own way. His investigations lead him to Irael and Lebanon...
