Though he's spent years backing up the befuddled Col. Barkley (James Gleason), Sgt. "Dodo" Doubleday (William Tracy) doesn't mind, mostly because it allows him to be closer to the colonel's pretty daughter (Elyse Knox). But complications ensue when a misunderstanding causes Barkley to think that Dodo is an expert marksman, and two rival soldiers (Noah Beery Jr. and Joe Sawyer) plot to prove that he isn't.
