When Rachel Carson's (Demi Moore) five-year-old son drowns, her life appears to be falling apart at the seams. When a sympathetic friend rents Rachel a secluded cottage in hopes that a little peace and quiet will help the grieving mother recover from her loss, the quiet retreat is violently shattered by a series of bizarre and unexplained murders. Now with a community in fear and her sanity slowly slipping, Rachel must use her instincts to unmask the killer before it's too late and she too falls prey to the murderous rage that threatens to consume the once tranquil town. English The first hour, which was in the spirit (haha) of the silliest campfire ghost stories, was not great, but the rest was completely different, much better, pleasantly surprising and gave a completely different dimension to the mentioned ghost stories. However, the film lacked anything believable to me, especially the emotions of the main character were lost somewhere, and I think Demi Moore really could have acted better. Otherwise, I really liked the atmospheric Cornish setting and the music. It’s not offensive. ()

English This is just an average thriller, mainly due to the dull direction. The script tried to combine elements of a crime thriller and a mysterious drama with a romantic storyline. There is an apparent effort to create the old-fashioned British pensive atmosphere, and the musical score based mainly on piano tones reminds me of old crime series with Inspector Dalgliesh. The weaker review from me is due to Demi Moore in the lead role. Not that she didn't play her part well, but I simply don't like her. I consider her an average actress, interesting only for her self-presentation skills and bulldog tenacity. Overall impression: 50%. ()
