Vengeful bounty hunter Ben Brigade (Randolph Scott) captures the notorious, psychotic outlaw Billy (James Best), to trap the gunman’s equally deranged brother Frank (Lee Van Cleef), the man who murdered Brigade’s wife. In the western "Ride Lonesome", it is already apparent that the characters in the Wayne-esque style were not that interesting and it was necessary to come up with something more interesting in the genre. This western has pleasantly dirty and sweaty guys, as well as one beautiful woman, which works excellently just from this aspect. However, it also has a story that is interesting and eventually leads to some surprises.
