Depicting the people's army as a place where the enemy might have infiltrated was, even during the 1950s, out of the question, therefore this military propaganda film is not about the necessity of being alert or about those who are apparently a drawback in the fight for the improvement of socialism. Instead, the film is about success of teaching a daredevil peasant boy a few important lessons in the army, where Beke András, this young man, learns by experience, having to do his military service in one of the armoured divisions of the army, that education, hard work and solidarity, not heroics, is the answer to life's contemporary challenges. Beke's spiritual transformation is, as it were, helped by his superiors and fellow conscripts, who at times teach this obstinate young man a few good lessons. Love, naturally, is in the picture to help our soldier become an example case of a hard-working man. (official distributor synopsis)
