Newly appointed deputy sheriff Tom Brent chases the Polka Dot Bandit after he holds up the express office and shoots the agent. During the chase, the bandit drops the money. Dan Farrell, father of Ann, retrieves the money and is about to pursue the bandit when he is shot. The wounded Dan returns home, and everyone suspects him of the crime. Tom thinks that Dan is hiding the real bandit, while Ann believes that Tom is deliberately interfering with her father's plans. During the course of Tom's investigations, several people fall under suspicion until he uncovers the identity of the real Polka Dot Bandit and apprehends him. (official distributor synopsis)
