Plots(1)

Charlie Brooker, the creator of the BBC-Channel4 project Black Mirror, has himself defined the series saying: "If technology is a drug – and it does feel like it – then what, precisely, are the side-effects? This area – between delight and discomfort – is where Black Mirror is set. The "black mirror" of the title is the cold, shiny screen of a TV, a monitor, a smartphone.” The three stand-alone dramas are sharp, suspenseful, satirical tales with a techno-paranoia bent. Season 1 (2011) (S01)

English Neither the first nor second season of Black Mirror were made specifically for Netflix, and the show only got on Netflix with the subsequent seasons. However, that does not change the fact that the very first season is great and has some awesome episodes. The first season of Black Mirror shows that there is some really great science-fiction on Netflix. You just have to look hard for it and sort the wheat from the chaff. ()

Season 2 (2013) (S02)

English The second season of Black Mirror is just as strong as the first season. It shows that there is still a lot to be said in the field of technology. It could be a social commentary, relationship satire, or even a crime drama. Technology is everywhere these days, you simply cannot avoid it, many cannot live without it, and although it could be said to be ambivalent it can also be used in either a positive or negative way. ()

Season 3 (2016) (S03)

English The third season of Black Mirror shows off how unique this television series is. I think the decision to make the season shorter with fewer episodes was absolutely brilliant too. So you get six quality episodes where there is something for everyone, whether you like social commentary, brutal action scenes, emotional love stories with the feels, or crime drama. All of it makes for great viewing. ()

Season 4 (2017) (S04)

English The fourth season of Black Mirror continues its great ride, and if you like clever science fiction television shows, this is for you. You will also like it if you like social issues discussed in movies, because much of what takes place here, is very familiar to us in today’s information age. I guess it depends on how we approach it and whether we let ourselves be taken over by technology. ()

Season 5 (2019) (S05)

English Season five of Black Mirror illustrates that there are still issues to be discussed and that there are always ideas to be explored, showing how dangerous technology is for us, but also that it can be beneficial if used appropriately which is up to us. However, we definitely have to watch out for it, or rather, watch out for ourselves, because we can use technology in ways that could very well destroy us. ()
