Set in Stockholm, Sweden, in the autumn of 1945, "Grandpa's Journey" tells of a few days and nights in the lives of Göran, 8, and his grandfather, Simon Fromm, a Jewish professor of literature. The boy is drawn into his grandfather's strange world, his rushing thoughts, his solemn poems. There is a very special, unspoken love between them, which enables them to create their own private world where both are indispensable and where everyday events become fantastic.
