Wounded gunslinger Quirt Evans is taken in and nursed back to health by the Worths, a kindly Quaker family. As he gradually falls in love with Prudence Worth, he comes to understand the power of faith and the futility of his violent ways. His old life returns to haunt him, however, in the form of a vicious outlaw out to kill him, and Quirt finds himself torn between pacifism and the desire for revenge. (official distributor synopsis)

Some characters are quite interesting, while others are rather dull and not very original or multi-dimensional. John Wayne here does his usual standard, but it must be said that for many other actors, it would be above standard. When needed, he is funny, can be romantic, and manages most poses. Unfortunately, the film itself doesn't stand out significantly and is actually just another story from the Wild West, where the chase on a stagecoach and the fight in a bar slightly catch the attention.
