From Down Under come a pleasant-enough comedy that strives to take on some heavy topics - most notably the existence (or lack thereof) of God. Scottish comedian/singer Billy Connolly is a lawyer-turned-fisherman who decides to sue God after a bolt of lightning destroys his fishing boat and the insurance companies won't pay, claiming it as an act of God. In the first fifteen minutes I got the impression that this would be some sort of crazy comedy, but luckily it gradually turns into a tasteful, amusing movie with an interesting idea behind it. In fact, I have been countless movies like this, but because in this they aren’t suing a big corporation, but God (or rather the Church), it is rather more interesting. Too bad that Arthur didn’t get more room... ()
