On a raw, cold evening in early December, 1980, Mark David Chapman (Jared Leto), a disturbed drifter from Hawaii, met ex-Beatle John Lennon. Moments later, the entire world was shocked senseless. Based on chilling true events, Jared Leto is unforgettable in his mental and physical portrayal of an unhinged and angry man whose descent into madness led him to commit one of the most infamous crimes of the 20th century. It is a psychological portrait like no other that will leave you stunned long after its nerve-shattering and tragic conclusion. (official distributor synopsis)

English I don't deny that the story is completely authentic, I don't deny Jared Leto the credit for being willing to be disguised like this, and I don't deny that John Lennon was important to world culture. But why I had to watch this tragic event from such a boring perspective, that I really don't understand. It's just an empty monologue, a dilemma with a gun, and an analysis of an adored book. Something like Bobby worked all throughout and the final inevitable event only intensified all of my feelings. After ten minutes of this film, I understood that what Chapman would do at the end would be the only moment that could still save the film. Unfortunately, even this fateful moment is presented so stupidly and carelessly that it perhaps magnifies the feeling of uselessness. P.S.: Leto doesn't shine in any case. You just can't recognize him. ()
