Everything that there wasn't time for in the opening short season is happily developed here. The relationship with the local Mr. Divine is neither sweetly linear nor modernly illegible, it's just... realistic. Therefore, this relationship is not easy to fulfill for either party. I would have appreciated at least one more return to the new stories by Candace Bushnell, but the era of the legendary writers' strike didn't favor that. The first season, therefore, didn't even have the expected 13 episodes, and the competing series Cashmere Mafia was canceled after the first season, so it's actually a miracle the story concluded in just 20 episodes. The idea of filming a third season was finally scrapped after Lindsay Price joined Eastwick. ()
