Americanizing Shelley

Shalini lives in the Himalayan region in India. Her fiancé, Neil re-locates to America and is employed with an agency that recruits aspiring Hollywood artistes. Hoping to marry, Shalini travels to California but to her shock she finds Neil in the arms of a blonde named Nicole. He refuses to have to do anything with her, let alone marry her. She is befriended by Robert Shorwell, a co-worker of Neil, who offers to Americanize her so that she can win back Neil. Robert, and his friend, Blaine, successfully transform Shailini to a much more acceptable female of Hispanic origin, re-name her Shelley Picante, and prepare her to woo and win back Neil.
