Maddie Curtis (Monica Keena) and her friends Lily, Suzanne and Colin (Edward Furlong) are ready for a great Halloween night party at the notorious Broussard Mansion in New Orleans. Where, over eighty years ago, six people disappeared without a trace and the owner, Evangeline Broussard, hung herself. At the decadent, out-of-control party, the girls are living it up alongside their host, Angela (Shannon Elizabeth). But soon they discover a horrible secret. Their cell phones don't work and the mansion gates are now mysteriously locked. It becomes clear that supernatural forces are at work and that there may be more to the tale of Evangeline Broussard than anyone knew. It turns out the mansion is home to demons that need to possess seven vessels to break free of their ancient curse. One by one the guests fall victim, transforming into hideous creatures, but can anyone make it through the night and keep the evil forces from spreading into the world? English One of those few remakes that had a good chance of being better than the original. The old Night of the Demons is an undemanding and bloody fun B-movie with good make-up that would never reach the top of the horror rankings, and neither will the remake. The failure could be expected, Adam Gierasch behind the camera (the director of the stupid The Autopsy) and the long delayed première weren’t good sings. But I’m not disappointed because I wasn’t expecting anything. It’s watchable, though. 5/10 ()

English Night of the Demons relies heavily on gore, which is quite good. Every now and then they also introduce a face that's a little bit familiar, whether it's Shannon Elizabeth or Edward Furlong, both of whom are a little past their prime. Then it's just a matter of wondering who will survive, if anyone, and if they'll manage to come up with some really nasty stuff, which they actually do at one point. ()
