Mark (Mark Doherty) is having a bad day. A struggling actor, he’s just been through the ordeal of yet another fruitless audition for a bit part in a movie.  With his long-suffering girlfriend about to walk out and his landlord ready to evict him he’s only got his best mate Pierce (Dylan Moran) and their joint ambition of writing a career-breaking film to sustain him. Life’s not easy, but things are about to get worse…much worse, and then someone dies and things get really bad. (official distributor synopsis)

English The plot of any film has not surprised me this much (and so many times) in a long time. I'm referring, of course, to the flurry of unfortunate coincidences... And also (so what if it’s absurd?) the removal of their consequences. The runtime was just right, it was nice and black, it managed to entertain me... I give it four stars. "But that's a lie, Pierce!"-"Shut up! It's the new truth." ()

English Unnecessarily restrained. The whole movie feels like a prelude to something bigger that's about to burst your diaphragm, but alas... This is how it reminded me a lot of Scandinavian comedies in terms of mood. Mark Doherty's boringly written character doesn't really help the result, but luckily there is Dylan Moran to break it all up again. ()
