Spencer Tracy was a great actor, and even though this is mainly about the boys and the town his character created for them, in reality, this film is one he stole for himself because he's simply outstanding in it. Fortunately, the dramatic storyline of the whole film also works. In the 1930s, smaller treasures were also filmed. This one doesn't shine, but it's good. ()
