Billy Bob Thornton returns to star as criminal santa impersonator Willie Stokes in this festive black comedy sequel. Still the same drunken, greedy guy, Willie and his sidekick Marcus (Tony Cox) conspire to make a big score this christmas, by robbing a chicago charity. This time they have some help, even if it is a little unwelcome, from Willie's mother, Sunny (Kathy Bates). She is as ambitious as she is crass, so she ought to fit right in. But things might get even more complex thanks to the involvement of the bombshell who runs the charity, Diane (Christina Hendricks). With a pure heart and a less than pure mind, Willie is smitten with her. The cast also features Brett Kelly and Ryan Hansen. (Universal Pictures UK)

The original Bad Santa entertained me with its political incorrectness. And I am not sure why, but I quite liked this instalment as well. Although I’ve tried to read different opinions in the reviews on this site to understand why the second instalment fell into such disgrace, I have to admit, I still do not understand why it should be that way. The only argument which seemed relatively justifiable was that the second instalment was far less funny. But I don't fully agree. I’ve laughed quite a bit. Billy Bob Thornton was once again great and the actresses around him were great as well. As a result, I’ve laughed a lot plus there was something to look at. Sure, the film is not for everyone, but that was the same with the first instalment. ()
A pretty crazy vulgar Christmas ride, with Billy Bob Thornton having a good time, and it's quite nice to watch. I laughed a couple of times, I wasn't bored, there is a lot of profanity, which I also appreciate, so perfect for a boring evening. 60% ()
Santa is still a pervert, but so is his mom. The film relies on Kathy Bates, who is absolutely fantastic. Otherwise, it's just the same as the first film, only Billy Bob is a bit more familiar, and the crime plot is simply boring because it unfolds in well-trodden paths. Beyond that, it's still beautifully politically incorrect in places. And that's about it. ()
