English I actually thought this was going to be one of John Ford's first films, but as it turns out, he’d made a lot more. But it's definitely one of the few silent westerns I've seen so far. And it has to be said that it works, although more as a film about colonization. There's a western feel to it, but it's not as action-packed as one would think or as appropriate for the plot. ()
