While fighting for his country in Vietnam, Dalton (Austin Stowell) finds out that his girlfriend (Aimee Teegarden) back home has dumped him. He has one week's leave coming up so decides to escape the war and fly half way round the world to get her back. Joined by his best friend (Liam Hemsworth), they go A.W.O.L from the horrors of the war zone, and have seven days to get back to America, change his girlfriend's mind and make it back without anyone noticing. Along the way they must make some life changing decisions as they learn the truth about love, honour and commitment. (High Fliers Films)

"Love and Honor" is a movie that can evoke even unpleasant feelings in you. At times, it is so saccharine that it caused me actual physical nausea, and I had to avert my gaze not to witness how the actors distort themselves. The romance portrayed here is so strong that one might choke on it. But why? What does it all actually mean? That only true love endures? That only those who still have hope for love return to the jungle? That life will be somehow better after completing a tour? That Canada is a promised land? I don't know. This film doesn't say anything at all. It's just a bad red library that veterans should spit on.
